Looks like GM is soon to become a thing of the past. The company is on it's way down. They want a shit load of bail out money, but don't want to change the way they do business. Alright! I'll be the first to say it's been fun GM. You will always hold a place in our hearts and you will never get my fucking money. Thanks, but no thanks. Even Ford is willing to make changes and conform to the way the world is changing.
As for more depressing financial news, initial reports of Citicorp losing around 50K jobs was a low estimate. Now it looks like it's going to be around 75K. Now I know that the average person will look at this estimate and say that doesn't seem like a whole lot. Last I checked, that is about the population of Jacksonville, FL. Now does that seem like a lot? An entire city will lose it's jobs. Our unemployment rate is going up at an alarming rate. We are climbing each and every day. We are still much lower than back in 1982, but soon to reach that number and be looking just as bad as we did in the early eighties. And just so everyone knows, we had just elected Reagan who revitalized our economy back then. I will be curious to see what happens for sure.
And last, I will leave you with my final thought. Too much in life we focus on things that aren't truly important. We need to focus all of our energy on our friends, families and those who are in need. If we would just learn to take care of one another, we wouldn't be begging the federal government to save us all. Thanks, and I hope you all have a great day!
